Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
The Serengeti National Park is a World Heritage listed park situated in North Western Tanzania. It covers 14,750 square kilometres of grassland plains, savanna, riverine forest and woodlands. The name "Serengeti" is derived from the Masai word "siringit" , which means "the place where the land runs on forever". Apart from the vast migratory herds of Wildebeest, Gazelles and Zebra, the park is home to what is believed to be the largest lion population is Africa, due mainly to the abundance of prey species. We found there were also plenty of Leopard and other cats. We stayed at Serengeti Serena lodge http://www.serenahotels.com/serenaserengeti/default-en.html
